Martians (2006)

View the Martians Video filmed on Devon Island in the High Arctic (75 degrees North), Nunavut, Canada, for the NASA Haughton-Mars Project! Martians was officially released in October, 2006 at the XPrize Cup in Las Cruces, NM. Elaine was a fan of the XPrize since 1996, and it is a fantastic coincidence that her home town of Las Cruces would become the location for the yearly XPrize Cup events, with Spaceport America being built nearby. Martians marks the end of an era for ZIA, the time spent on the East Coast. Elaine was commissioned by the Haughton-Mars Project to compose the song Martians (the title track) and film the video on Devon Island in the Canadian High Arctic, 75 degrees North, with mission of inspiring the dream of humans living on Mars. The rest of the album is a mix of space songs and love songs. Plenty of hard-earned emotion is packed into this CD which is unusual for ZIA. video | lyrics | credits
