1.  MOTHER
(A mother space ship is having life support problems and there are no lifeboats - the analogy is that Mother Earth is having life support problems, and we have no ships to carry humans off of the planet.)

She's sick in need.
Life support system failure.
Atmosphere control error.
Emergency procedures must take effect.
No alternative, cannot abandon ship.
We'll die with her - Mother.

She's sick in need.
Life support system failure.
Atmosphere control error.
Suffocation process is in effect.
No alternative, cannot abandon ship.
We'll die with her - Mother.

2.  THE BUILDING
(This song is about a very large abandoned incinerator in Boston that some of us used to hang out in.)

There's a place straight from Heaven, a place - Hell on Earth,
Where I like to watch the moon.  Toxic waste, standing in a puddle,
In the bowels of this concrete carcass.

There's a name for this - Progress.

This building is dead, but I feel so alive.
This building is dead, alive when I'm inside.
Synthetic sludge on my boots.
I see the future in broken gears,
And miles of conduits and obsolete technology.

There's a name for this - Progress.

3.  RECONSTRUCTION/DESTRUCTION
(This refers to cities spreading over the earth like a fungus.)

Solid steel grill, multiple layers, this vision so enormous
Tied up with rope, hanging over the edge, closer and closer
Reaching higher from a sub view, the form twists from beauty.

Reconstruction/Destruction

She's a tired, relic design, no room for change.
She's disguised in a hideous mask on her skeletal remains.
She's suffocating in concrete, a shallow breath through ventilation.
Asphalt beneath her feet, a burning sensation.

Reconstruction/Destruction

It's spreading like a fungus on the parental flesh.
Can anyone among us conspire a new layout?
Layers like lifelines beneath us so enormous.
I'm hanging from a sub view, confliction of morals.

Reconstruction/Destruction

4.  SOL
(based on the book "Sundiver" by David Brin)

Outside, beyond, he could see the beginnings of a blackness, transparency,
Returning to the red haze of the chromosphere, an edge to the sun.

Culla-Ta-Pring Pil-Ab-Kisa-Soro-Ab-Hub-Ab-Puber

The photosphere stretched out ahead, a feathery crimson carpet.
And in its depths it crawled with tiny movements.
Filaments exploding under brightly waving jets.
Back and forth and on and on the Sol waved before his eye.

Culla-Ta-Pring Pil-Ab-Kisa-Soro-Ab-Hub-Ab-Puber

Were we uplifted, had we resisted, or were we already gifted?
Were we abandoned before we knew our place in the universe?
Culla, save us from this foolishness!

Culla-Ta-Pring Pil-Ab-Kisa-Soro-Ab-Hub-Ab-Puber

We feel resentment towards creatures who need no fulfillment.
So they became our protein factories, our slaves,
Victims of our genocidal rage.

Culla-Ta-Pring Pil-Ab-Kisa-Soro-Ab-Hub-Ab-Puber

5.  SPACE-TIME
(About virtual reality and neural networks)

In space-time we exist as machines incapable of perfection and unable to process overstimulation of non-perfection.  Continuous overload of guilt through hypocracy.  This leads to circuits breaking.  Therefore we choose to exist as non-humans in a virtual fantasy world surrounded by stimulating images and false, arbitrary morals as our code of existance.  Frightened by our own flesh - a reminder of imperfection and unescapable hypocracy.  Those who somehow slip out of the cyberspace timewarp of of Earth culture into the reality of the flesh, will break from the overstimulation of reality, unfiltered by Earth culture.  There is no answer.

Space-Time
Aesthetic of construction, dissimulated
Anticipation of flight in darkness
Narcoses of the passengers
Constant movement of architecture
The desert is without horizon

Video claim, reverse distain, subliminal send, sell into them

6.  AGRIBUSINESS
(This song is about dairy, meat cows, and veal.  Most cows are bred in a very uneconomical and cruel manner, to sustain the eating habits of carnivorous people.)

No movement / Administer a stimulant / No movement
Excretion regenerant / Routine injection / Administer a stimulant
No movement
Genetic engineered technology

Increase Intolerance

Resistance / Sustaining carnivoids / Resistance
Cyberflesh machinery / Inferior minority / Sustaining carnivoids
Resistance
Inhumane unsustainable environment

Increase Intolerance

7.  ANIMAL
(An animal in the desert stalking his prey... I wrote this about Tiananmen Square when the citizens finally spoke out after years of silence... It could also be about the LA riots.)

And the animal is poised immobile.
And the sky is wide and the blue is depthless.
And the animal is poised immobile.
Eyes trained on the horizon.
And the sky is wide and the blue is depthless.
And the animal is poised immobile.
And the sky is wide and the blue is depthless.
And I wait for breaks in the horizon.
And the sky is wide and the blue is depthless.
And the animal is poised immobile.
Sensing movement.
Breaking through the chest, flying out the mouth.
Noisy tongues that were once silenced.

8.  NEW WAY
(...about a society which has been sedated, unfocused, and stagnant, and carelessly polluting the earth.  Someday civilization will be wiped out, but Earth will still continue her orbit, finally rid of her annoying fungus.)

A blanket of suffocation will cover her every nation.
A careless intoxication.
Her patience is wearing thin, she's raging under her delicate skin.
Eruptions that form within her will break out with words of anger.
Hear what she says.  Dance to a feminine voice.

Future lust anticipation.  Unfocused stagnation.  Drowning in our sedation.
Her patience is wearing thin, exploding under her delicate skin.
Eruptions that form within her will break out with storms of anger.
Look at her in a new way.  Dance to a feminine voice.

9.  PAGAN GODDESS
(This is based on a science fiction book by David Brin called Earth.  It is about an old lady, Daisy, who attempts to kill most of the population of humans in order to restore the proper eco system.  She is known as Gaia - the mother Earth goddess by her followers.  "Gaia" refers to Daisy, and also to Earth herself.)

Driven by the currents in her dynamo,
Whirling exponential storms of death.
With every moment, she grows in power.
Soon her creations will self sustain her - Gaia.

Pagan Goddess

Permanent scythes of mortality, tuned to reap a harvest of humanity.
Antibodies against a parasite seeking vengeance for the slain manatee.

Pagan Goddess

A proper order to the Gaia.  Her predators with form a pyramid.
Mankind breeding out of proportion, a teetering edifice.

Pagan Goddess

10.  STICK MEN
(The stick men are the white men who invaded American Indian territory and turn the earth inside out for agriculture and architecture.)

And then the stick men came,
And they stabbed her beautiful, flawless skin,
And left her inside out and settled in to take her every last drop of life.
We live in cubicles now with imaginary walls.
We live and breathe the stick man's laws.
They take the breath, the blood, they leave a permanent scar.
They know who they are - Leaches.
