ZIA is an exclusively electronic band who began performing on the East Cost in 1992. Founded by Elaine Walker,
ZIA bangs out pro-space and sci-fi music on futuristic instruments. The notes and samples are triggered ALL LIVE
with drum sticks! Microtonal musical scales run rampant throughout the ZIA repertoire. In the pop genre this is a
monumental task which adds an eerie, futuristic edge to the songs. ZIA was together for 13 years in Boston and NYC,
and has recently relocated to Arizona.
ZIA currently has 3 full length albums and two EPs. ZIA has just released the new CD titled Martians! Martians
was officially released at the XPrize Cup in October, 2006! Stay tuned for
the Martians video which was filmed in the High Canadian Arctic on Devon Island with the NASA Haughton-Mars Project.
Band members, Travis Whitmer of Antedote, Andrew Sanchez of Tokyo Bloodworm, Sean Brennan of Ember Coast, and founding member Elaine Walker complete the live line-up.
